In the absence of the capability to undertake anything more strenuous, I was reduced to a stroll round Gartmorn Dam.Starting at Sauchie and finishing at Coalsnaughton, two of the scenic highlights of the 62/63 bus route.
It's a really interesting piece of water about which I may blog again when I'm in better fettle
9 of the buggers you've outdone yourself !
ReplyDeletecheers Danny
Well Danny like you and the butterflies it's just a matter of knowing the right whistle.
DeleteYou have Lakes and Hills!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky man.
I prefer Axis Bold as Love, but this will do.
I must get a copy of Easy Rider.
I may have to put a clip of the Pusher on my next blog post.
The clip for Wasn't Born to Follow has some nice Lakes and Hills on it !
DeleteI saw Easy Rider on a double bill, midnight screening, with a film of Hendrix live (at Isle of Wight I think). My mate Martin drove us, he just had the car, we must have been 17. You could have sliced the atmosphere in the cinema and served it in Dutch cafe.
ReplyDeleteand as the camera zoomed out over the credits, everyone turned to their neighbour and went"Wow" ?
DeleteYep.
DeleteCatch 22, Mash and One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest all had a similar effect.
And there was another one that I've been trying to think of all day. !!
DeleteGartmorn dam is a great wee walk. I've only done the circular mind you. Hard to believe how "industrial" the site was when you see the old photos on the route.
ReplyDeleteAye it was a spur of the moment kind of "feck it" sort of thing. I'll be back and do it a bit more justice.
DeletePS. Gonnae give me the neumber of that physio of yours. He seems to have worked wonders !
http://www.physiofocus.com/ - Physio called David - their back expert.
ReplyDelete(Sadly don't know how to put links into comments.)
He didn't so much solve the problem (he described it as not straight forward)but reckoned what I would learn from his "back class" (the cheap option btw) would allow me understand my own problem and take from the class what I needed. Sounded a bit vague at the time but a year or so on I'm now understanding what he meant and able to (sort of)control the issue - even what exercises help my own situation. Still do stupid things mind you like a step class a couple of weeks back which buggered up the legs for a few days. Main thing is I now have a better understanding of what I'm able to do on the hills and as long as I avoid certain things I can still rack up a fair distance and ascent. Unsurprisingly I discovered it was housework etc. which caused most of the problems - lol.
There is no need to do housework at all.
DeleteWhen you get the estate agents in, get the cleaners in a few days beforehand.
Nice video.
:-)
Trouble with housework is you can spend 10 minutes cleaning and tidying the entire houe, and six months later it all needs doing again !!
DeleteI like the sign time. You could swop the times round to suit your needs.
ReplyDeleteGreat video. Yes i did the late night double epic cinema show too. I had forgotten about though until i read Marks comment.
You know what they say, Alan. "If you can remember the 60s (70's ?) you weren't there" !
