So there.
Just thought I'd share that with you.

  1. The music aye helps when you're fed up though, doesn't it?

It worked for me, at any rate.

  3. Ah, I've had days like this. They're a bit miserable but they don't last forever. Get someone to moan at / lean on...it worked for me.

As does music, singing and smiling. All amazingly good at lifting my mood.

    Chin up!

    1. Thanks, John. We're lucky to haver music as an important part of our lives.
I'm also glad that, like everyone, I get down at times, but can soon shake it off - helps make the good times better - yin and yang, darkness and light etc.

Okay. 'Cos it was good music. If it had been crap there wouldn't have been any.

  5. Aye, it can be right basturd at times. No Gods etc., is a powerful performance from Dick; always try to catch him gien the chance, great player with a unique rhythmic sense. And Cohen and the great Joplin line in the song's a classic. Good choice. Hope you cheer up a bit soon - maybe a pie supper'd do the trick, or a double nougat!

    1. Hmm - double nougat wafer - I see you use the politically correct name :-)

Dick was a great friend of Hamish Henderson (Seamus Mhor, as he called him) and recorded many of his songs. No Gods was written by Brian Mcneil of the legendary Battlefield Band, but the title comes from a line in Hamish;s Elegies for the dead in Cyrenaica.
For anyone interested, the entire Hanful of Earth album is available on Youtube
